Roses and Lilacs Watercolor Painting

Roses and Lilacs
Have been experimenting with dark backgrounds, using two or three layers of color.
I started this one with a deep purple background, and then added a layer of almost black.
I've been neglecting my blog this year, due to other obligations.
I will try to do better.
Painted on Fabriano CP watercolor paper, using a variety
of watercolor brands:  Winsor & Newton, Sennellier,
Schmincke, Grumbacher, and others.

I have missed your posts, RoseAnn, and was so happy to see this one in my Inbox. I'm glad you're still painting, as I just love your work--especially my Purple Flowers watercolor that I bought from your Etsy shop.

Am loving the soft hues of your watercolours. This is something I have been wanting to attempt but like many things, have never got around to it. Your work is giving me inspiration.
